DIY Caramel Thumbprint Cookies Recipe

{ingredients}
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups flour
caramel sauce

{instructions}
 add all ingredients to a mixing bowl & mix until incorporated
 chill the dough for 30 minutes
 roll into 1” balls and make an imprint in the top with your thumb
 bake for 15 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet, until lighty golden
 after cooling for a couple of minutes, reinforce the imprint in the center  
   of the cookie
 after completely cooled, add caramel sauce to the center of the cookie
 enjoy!

2 cups packed brown sugar
12 tablespoons salted butter
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
1 tablespoon sea salt
{instructions}
 add brown to tall pan over medium to medium-high heat
 stir with a wooden spoon until sugar has begun to melt and begins to
   clump
 lower heat to low and add butter pieces and stir constantly until  
   melted and the sugar and butter are smooth
 remove from heat and gently stir in cream and salt
 stir until caramel is smooth and glossy
 allow to cool slightly and pour into an airtight container for storing
